Crochet Baby Top/Dress [for all sizes]

  Materials

  • Mercerize cotton yarn [2 different colors]        
    • Pink color [A]
    • Yellow color [B]
  • Crochet hook 2.75mm
  • Pair of scissors 
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch markers 

Abbreviations

  • Ch - chain
  • Sc - single crochet
  • Dc - double crochet
  • Slst - slip stitch
  • Sk - skip
  • St - stitch
  • Sp - space  
To begin measure around the bust and make ch [color A] according to the measurement, at the same time keep st count multiple of 3.

Once you have your ch, join in to first ch with a slst.[make sure your work is not twisted]

R1- Ch 3,[count as a dc throughout] 1dc in to next ch st, and 1dc in to each ch st around, join with slst in to 3rd ch. 

R2- Ch 4 [3+1] sk next st 1dc in to next st, ch1 sk1 1dc in to next st repeat around. join with slst in to 3rd ch.

R3- Ch 3, 1dc in to ch sp, 1dc in to top of the dc st repeat around. join with slst in to 3rd ch.

R4- Repeat R2

R5- Repeat R3

Change the yarn color [B]
 
R6 to R10 repeat R1 to R5 with color B

Change the yarn color [A] 

R11 to R15 repeat R1 to R5 with color A

Change the yarn color [B]

R16 to R20 repeat R1 to R5 with color B 

So here we are finish with the upper part and lets move on to the lower part of our top.


R1- Join the yarn [color A] in to the last dc from previous row, make 1sc in the same sp. Then ch4, sk2, 1sc. ch4,sk2,1sc....at the end slst in to 1st sc.

R2- slst in first 2ch and 1sc into the same ch4 sp then ch4 1sc in to next ch4 sp, ch4 1sc in to next ch4 sp,  ch4 1sc in to next ch4 sp. [3 ch4 loops] 9dc in to next ch4 sp and 1sc in to next ch4 sp. repeat around...slst in to 1st sc. 

R3-  slst in first 2ch 1sc in the same ch4 sp, ch4 1sc in to next ch4 sp, ch4 1sc in to next ch4 sp then 1dc in to each dc [9dc] 1sc in to next ch4 sp, repeat...slst in to first sc.

R4- slst in first ch2 and 1sc in to same ch4 sp, ch4 1sc in to next ch4 sp then work 1dc in to the space between first and second dc, ch1, 1dc in to space between second and third dc [repeat for all sp between dc. 8dc] 1sc in to next ch4 sp, ch4 1sc in to next ch4sp, repeat...slst in to first sc.

R5 - Join the yarn color B in to ch4 sp, ch3[dc] and work 8 more dc in to the same sp [9dc] 1sc in to first ch sp[between dc] ch5, skip the next ch sp, 1sc in to next ch sp, ch5 sk next ch sp 1sc in to next ch sp, ch5 sk next ch sp 1sc in to next ch sp, 9dc in to ch4 sp repeat...slst in to 3rd ch.

From here we are gonna repeat R3 R4 and R5 until we get the desired length.

Last row instead of working ch5 [in between 9dc fans] work ch3, ch5 picot ch3 [see pic below] 


Shoulder straps [make 2]

R1- Work ch according to the length of your strap, 1sc in to 2nd ch from the hook, 1sc in to each ch across

R2- Ch1 turn the work, 1sc in to each st across.

R3- Repeat R2

R4- Repeat R2

R5- Ch3[dc] turn 2dc in the same sp, 3dc in to each st across.

Saw the straps in to top with yarn needle.
